Description
Key Ingredients
Fermented Vitamin D & Vitamin K, paired with time-tested superfood ingredients.
Easily Absorbed Vitamin D & Vitamin K
Known as the “sunshine vitamin,” vitamin D is essential to living your healthiest life. It supports healthy immune system function and helps your body absorb other nutrients, like calcium and phosphorus. To make this formula as effective as possible, we’ve paired easy-to-absorb, probiotic-fermented vitamin D with vitamin K (which helps your body take in and absorb vitamin D).
Superfood Support
This vitamin D supplement blend incorporates some of history’s most respected superfoods. Organic astragalus and schisandra berry extracts are typically more concentrated than just the herbs themselves, and powerful mushrooms like lion’s mane and reishi can help your body stay in balance. Collagen-filled bone broth rounds out this superfood formula.
Wild Hake Roe & Beef Liver
An ancient nutritional powerhouse, liver is one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. It can help support healthy detoxification in the body, and it’s full of vitamin A, B-vitamins, iron, zinc, magnesium, selenium and more. Roe, or fish eggs, are packed with protein and essential fatty acids and fat-soluble vitamins — there are often more omega 3s in the roe than the fish itself. Our wild hake roe is sourced in New Zealand.
Bovine Liver
An ancient nutritional powerhouse, liver is one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. Containing vitamins A, D, B12, B2, B3, B5, B6, omega-3s, iron, folate, zinc and more, this liver from pasture-raised New Zealand cattle is amazing.

Is supplementation really necessary?
For many Americans the diet consumed isn’t nutritionally adequate. In fact, approximately two-thirds of the standard U.S. diet is made up of unhealthy fats and refined sugars with low or no nutrient density — providing calories but not the amounts of vitamins and minerals needed, including vitamins A, B Complex, C, D, E and the minerals calcium, magnesium and zinc. More specifically, typical diets contain less than 80% of the RDA for calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, copper, and manganese—and the people who are most at risk for coming up short on those nutrients are adult women and teenage girls. Here’s the truth: If two-thirds of the standard U.S. diets are coming up short on certain nutrients, then the remaining one-third of the average diet may not be so great, either, and cannot possibly fully meet a person’s nutrient needs. One great way to get more vitamins and minerals into your diet is to include nutrient-dense, real foods. Unlike our Standard American Diet, nutrient-dense foods can deliver a vitamin-packed and mineral-packed wallop. In addition to a nutrient-dense diet, some opt to take a multivitamin to help cover their bases.
Why is vitamin D so important?
Essential for proper absorption and metabolism of calcium, phosphorus, and other nutrients, vitamin D is amazing. Did you know that without enough vitamin D, calcium is often limited in its absorption?
Most of us understand the power of vitamin D, but did you know that it plays a role in up to 2,000 genes and in every single tissue and cell of the body? However, it’s estimated that up to 75 percent of American teens and adults don’t get enough vitamin D in their diet..
Why do many people come up short on vitamin D? Here are a few reasons: Older people make less vitamin D than younger people do when exposed to sunlight, but some people avoid being out in the sun altogether — meaning they aren’t making vitamin D at a rate necessary for overall health..
Where you live in the continental United States can make a difference, too. For example, if you live north of an imaginary line that stretches from the northern border of California to Boston, then the ultraviolet energy is not enough for vitamin D synthesis for four to six months out of the year. Then there’s diet. The typical American diet doesn’t provide adequate amounts of vitamin D.
You may know, too, that vitamin D is actually a potent hormone and comes in two forms: vitamin D2 and vitamin D3 — with D3 being the preferred form. That’s why there’s Ancient Nutrients Vitamin D in vitamin D3 form.
Why aren’t your products labeled as being “dairy-free” or “nut free”?
Our products do not contain dairy, grains, nuts or soy; however, they are manufactured in facilities that may carry these allergens. This being said, all of our manufacturing partners are required to have and follow a thorough Allergen Program. The Allergen Program is to prevent the cross contamination of raw materials and processing of finished goods, where allergens may be present. Simply put, when it comes to our products and our suppliers, we follow industry best practices for full transparency and accuracy concerning our products. Therefore, where applicable for our products, we use the wording “made without dairy” and “made without nuts.”
Are your products produced in a facility with allergens?
We now have a disclaimer that is on ALL of our products: “Produced on equipment that may also process peanuts, tree nuts, milk, soybean, wheat, sesame, shellfish, fish, egg.” This is a voluntary disclaimer and our formulations have not changed.
Our manufacturers are required to have Policies and Procedures in place when it comes to handling and processing allergens. These allergen programs are in place to prevent cross contamination after each run by proper cleaning procedures. Allergen swab testing is also done after running an allergen containing product.
We test finished products for allergens prior to designating as “Free” of. We also follow cGMP (current good manufacturing practices) which guarantees allergen segregation.
